Our Story
Surya Nihongo Gakko was born from a simple belief: every student in Tamil Nadu deserves access to high-quality Japanese language education. Named after the Sanskrit word for "Sun" — symbolising enlightenment and knowledge — our academy has been illuminating paths to Japanese proficiency since 2021.
Founded in the heart of Madurai's Andalpuram neighbourhood, we recognised the growing demand for Japanese language skills in India's IT, manufacturing, and service sectors. Our mission was clear: create an institution that combines the rigour of traditional Japanese pedagogy with the warmth and accessibility of Indian teaching methods.
Today, Surya Nihongo Gakko stands as a testament to that vision — having trained hundreds of students, helped many clear JLPT examinations, and enabled dozens to pursue careers and education opportunities in Japan.
